This past Saturday, Bubble Punch woke up bright and early (for a weekend, anyway) to join the throng of costume-lovers down at the first ever Los Angeles Opera Sale. There were a slew of unique pieces available to buyers.. . if you had managed to get in line early enough, that is! It was obvious that costume designers from other theater houses were there to poach upon the unwanted goods… and they left with garments by the boatloads! Much to our horror, even though we had arrived early to the event, our place in line was waaaaaaay around the corner of the building.
Check out the madness!
Gloriously long line
More photos after the jump!
Our fellow costume-lover Rebecca (left), and ourselves
More of our costume-pillaging crew! Sheyne, Jocelyn, and Rebecca, with a very excited Chubby Bunny
We also bumped into our friend Saryn, who does amazing work over at Saryn Angel photography. Check out her bag of garment goodies! Envious!
Piles of costumes!
Greedy, greedy, greedy shoppers! left practically nothing for us by the time we got in!
Treasures untold...! but.. slightly picked over!
Chubby Bunny looks like snorlax?
This sparkly gown was part of the original garment series... they were all into the thousands of dollars
Another gown from that series
Chubby Bunny found this rockin' jacket... too bad it was a TAD out of our price range!
Racks and racks of gowns that... were our of our price range/already taken! Darn!
