Southwest Community Center Donations

Thanks to everyone who donated some of their time, energy, and hearts into helping to replenish the donations that were recently destroyed in a fire at the Southwest Community Center (AKA SMEDA, AKA Annie Mae Tripp Community Center)

Bubble Punch collected donations from all over Los Angeles! Special thanks to JapanLA for offering their store as a donation drop off point!

This past Friday, the truckload of donations that were collected were dropped off at the Orange County United Way, which was handling the donations for SMEDA.

Luckily, many other people and local communities opened their hearts to the needy this year, and the center, when I arrived, was filled with donations from all over!

Our pals from Sanrio also got involved in the event when they heard about it, and sent down several boxes full of Hello Kitty toys as donations! Check out below for some quick pictures snapped of the events…..

It was pleasantly surprising to see the OC United Way brimming with donations from all over!

Once at the OC United Way, Terri (left) and her coworker were there to greet donaters and organize the items to be shipped out to SMEDA.

One of Sanrio's many donations, an adorable Hello Kitty tricycle!

This room was filled with JUST the food donations!

Sarah, the fundraiser organizer at the OC United Way, was so nice, and grabbed a dolly to help move the donations from my car to inside the center. Pictured here unloading some of the donations Bubble Punch acquired!

Thanks again to everyone who donated to the SMEDA center. Happy Holidays indeed! =D

[Sorry I wasn’t able to get correct spellings/ last names of the OC United Way staff! If anyone knows them, please let us know!]
